The Dixon Valve & Coupling Company, LLC headquarters in Chestertown, Maryland, recently received an interior transformation led by designer Denise Clarke Perkins of Jamie Merida Interiors. You may have seen this design revealed on Kent Island News!
It's taken teamwork for Dixon Valve to grow into the international powerhouse that it is today, and the first thing visitors and employees see when they enter the headquarters is a circle of figures holding hands, symbolically reflecting the company's success. Contrasting the statue is a wall sculpture of wood tree trunks from The Phillips Collection which warms the look of the corporate space.
Taking inspiration from the company's logo, a palette of royal blues and steely grays was employed throughout the design. The biggest task was to reimagine the open atrium entry: Rather than merely serving as a pass-through, Perkins envisioned and executed a versatile area where employees could converge and interact in a stylish setting.
"It was important to turn the atrium into a space employees could use, complete with comfy seating," she said.
Modern touches throughout the rest of the space include geometric wallpaper in the lunch room, bold jars popping up in unexpected corners, large abstract paintings, and complimentary wall colors in the lobby and meeting rooms.
“We love dropping in whenever we are in the neighborhood, and it is wonderful to see Dixon Valve employees and visitors enjoying the design spaces Denise created,” said Jamie Merida.
